A Massive thank you to VICI Swimwear Australia, for providing this years series race costumes and vests. They certainly look great and lets hope the athlete performances can match the way they will look. With only 2 weeks to go till race 1 at Croyde's infamous Goldcoast Oceanfest Classic the competitors should be getting used to the water temperature for a no wetsuit final.
The question on everyones lips is 'Can George Haynes fight off the demons and win this series at last?' He certainly will not have it all his own way with challenges coming from all angles. The seasonsed campaigners of Rob Sandbach and Milky Byatt will be hard to beat and youngsters Jamie Green, Matt Hewitt, Tom Bolt and Tom Parry will provide soem more challenges.
The ladies competition welcomes back Jenna Hawkey fresh from her Olympic campaign and she is set to go toe to toe with national champion Mesha Wardman and Rhian Thomas. Youngster Summer Whiteley is one to watch after her 4 place last year at Portreath!!
The gruelling Eliminator format will see a combination final this year allowing the better girls and agew groupers to mix it wiuth the elite men. So bring on the 2-3 foot glassy swell and a nice 25 degree day!!
Competitors should register at 3pm with race 1 due to start at 4pm at the northern end of the beach. See you all on the sand.....Redders
